Required stats to use weapons - Guild Wars Forums

For example a fiery dragon sword has req.12 str to use it, yet people are still using them. So if I was to use a chaos axe of enchanting or something similar that requires str, would I still get the enchanting % bonus?

1. Weapons don't require Strength, ever. Swords would require Swordsmanship.

2. The requirement is only for the base damage on the weapon. Even if you don't meet the requirement you'll still get the bonuses from other mods, like the enchanting.
